Do you have a gross out story that makes you proud to be a Celiac? If you have one please email me at clubceliac@yahoo.com and let me know the details so I can publish it here.

Ronald: We had to go to my Aunt Judy's house the other night and she made something that was supposed to be lasagna. It looked really lopsided and the top looked slightly burnt. My mom had brought my gluten free food so I did not have to eat anything there. Funny thing is when we were in the car leaving both my parents where saying that they wished they could have said they had a food allergy or celiac sprue, because the food was not very good. So I am proud to be a celiac.
Holly Ann: My mother and stepfather love to eat liver and onion or fried chicken livers and gizzards. The thought of eating organ meat makes me sick. On those organ eating nights I just ask my mother if I can make one of my gluten free Amy's microwavable dinners. It is great to be a celiac so I can get out of eating such nasty meals that no one on this earth should be eating anyway. :)~
Katherine: One day a Tupperware salesperson was at my grandmother's home and she asked if she could make us this wonderful Strawberry Shortcake. I was sad at first, because I love Strawberry Shortcake, but when I saw her make it and the look of horror on the faces of the people who had to eat it, I knew I was proud to be a celiac that day.  The lady took an already prepared angel food cake that she had in a Tupperware bowl of some kind and she mixed together some strawberry Jell-O (just cold water and the powdered Jell-O) and poured it over the cake. Once it soaked in the cake she cut it and served it to the shocked looking guests at the party. Gee if you could have only seen their faces. I was so happy I did not have to taste it.  It is a great day to be a Celiac.
Karen: One day we went to a party for my mom's office and they had a pot luck dinner. It was very interesting, but there were some strange things there like grape leaves stuffed with rice and meat. I was glad to be able to pass on that by saying I was a celiac and could not chance it by eating any. It is a nice and truthful way to get out of eating strange or even nasty foods.
Tara: I am eight years old and I am a very picky eater and do not always like to try new things. I stay with my aunt while my mother works and she likes to make gourmet food she sees on TV. Thank goodness I cannot try everything she makes since some of it really looks nasty. She put some stuff called truffles in some crepes she made one day and if I am right truffles are a fungus. Ewww, I don't even want to taste that stuff. I am glad to be a celiac on those days and can eat my gluten free food my mother packed for me to eat instead. Thanks for having this cool website. It is really fun.
