Getting Started on a gluten free diet can be a challenge, but once you become familiar with reading labels it will become second nature. There are a variety of gluten free items you can cook and/or purchase. Until you get the hang of how to cook and eat gluten free meals, here is a list foods that are easy to make and eat. (Some will require Mom's Help)

1.
Pop Corn (Air Popped)
2. Fresh Fruit - Examples: Apples, Bananas, Grapes, Pears, Oranges, Grapefruit, Etc.
3. Fresh Vegetables - Examples: Raw Vegetables such as Carrots and Celery. Cooked
                                Vegetables such as Baked Potato, Corn on Cob, Spinach ( MMM Good)
                                or any vegetable not in a cream sauce. (Cream Sauces are usually   
                                thickened with flour.)
4. Water, Fresh Juice, Tea and some Sodas. Avoid sodas with caramel coloring, unless you have 
    verified that they are gluten free first. Sprite, and 7-Up is safe.
5. Eggs are gluten free. You can get Mom to help you create a tasty
    Omelet.
6. Fresh Meat, Fish and Chicken  Great Broiled or Baked Avoid if they have a batter or 
    cream sauce. Example: Avoid Chicken Fried Steak,  Fried Chicken, Smothered Steak unless 
    you use a gluten free flour. Also beware of marinades and juices that are injected into turkeys,    
   
chicken, pork, or beef. Always read the label and check with the manufacturer or butcher.
7. Cream of Rice Cereal: a great hot cereal, top it with brown sugar, maple syrup, or your
    favorite G.F. Jam.
8. Homemade Popsicle's  Take your favorite gluten free fruit juice and
    pour it into an ice cube tray. Cover with plastic wrap and insert 
    toothpicks through the plastic (plastic wrap will help hold toothpicks 
    straight) Freeze and enjoy.
9. Pudding - Make your own with cornstarch for the thickener or Kozy Shack brand puddings are 
    gluten free.

This will get easier. Once you and your family get the hang of cooking gluten free, you will be
